Following the events of the previous X-Force series, Psylocke and Storm form a new, clandestine team to handle missions the main X-Men refuse to touch. The initial roster includes outcasts Puck, Spiral, and a new character named Cluster. Their first major adversary is the X-Men legend Bishop, who returns from the future possessed by the "White Owl" demon (later revealed to be a revenant of Cassandra Nova). The team's missions delve into the darker corners of the mutant universe, often forcing them to make difficult, morally compromised decisions.
